Jack’s Love List III
I could not help myself I found some of these things I have written down and just had to post them! Remember these are just the random thoughts that flow in and out of my mind in no relative order.
1.) Please do not ask our Abba Father: How to clean out your Barn if you really do not want to know?
2.)The price of sin of my sin is to great, I should think before I act.
3.) While the harvest of my sin has been greater than I could have ever imagined: Abba’s Love is even greater.
4.) A man once said to me, “The Church has been raped of its men.” So I asked him to spend time in prayer with me for the church and its men, and yet he has no time to pray?
5.) Does our Abba father rate our relationship with Him? Does He rate us based on our experience or upon our love and faithfulness? How does Abba rate us?
6.) When talking with the un-churched, not saved, lost men they are confused and ask: Why are there so many denominations? Why are you always fighting with one another? Why are you always competing against each other? I have to say I am confuse too!
7.) There is nothing wrong with the CHURCH having distinct denominations just as there was nothing wrong with Israel having twelve sons or tribes. Is it wrong when the sons become so enamored in their own denomination, that the sons fail to acknowledge they have brothers in other tribes?
8.) Are we not ONE Israel, ONE Church, ONE Body and soon there will be only ONE Bride!?
9.) Do we build denominational walls because we are afraid someone will jump the wall and go to another tribe? That just might help with some of that denominational inbreeding. One of Webster’s New World Dictionary defines inbreeding #2: to become too refined to be effective.
10.) Just maybe Godly leaders could band together under a Biblical based statement that any Christian can agree to like: The deity of Jesus. His virgin birth, His sinless life, His atoning death on the cross, His resurrection; There is only One Eternal God, revealed in the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit; the Bible is the infallible inspired Word of God; We believe and receive by faith Jesus as our Savior; We have the Hope of eternal life with Yeshua in Heaven.
11.) I am not saying, to believe in an anything goes, is grounds, for unity. What If?
12.) What happens if we pray for the Body of Christ to come together?
I have actually had a lot of those same thoughts. If we could all come together can you imagine what could be accomplished? I thought this was a great post thanks so much for sharing your thoughts!
T, No I cannot imagine how great the out pouring of the Holy Spirit would be! I know it would greater than that of the first days! Thank-you and God Bless you.
Little did you know your list turned into a Lesson!
Thank you
God Bless
Could you imagine if I was a Pastor of a church? I think what a mess! We would spend less time of me speaking and more time in prayer, worship, and ministering to one another. After I write a post I have very little words left please for give me! Thank-you and God Bless
I really don’t have a comment..I just read your last comment 🙂 I can imagine a church like that..why not pastor one?
Ann, I do say your comment is the biggest I have ever had! My list of why not would longer than Moses’ at the burning bush! You pray and I shall pray, yes I will obey!
Okay, then that’s what I will do 🙂
Thank you for sharing your list! 🙂
I’m curious.. what did He say in response to #1?
Bethany, How might you know that I might have spoke these words to another man? He became angry and decided to compromise his faith. Thank-you for asking and many blessings.
Your post has set my mind to whirling! This is such a deep subject, it would probably take a ten-page letter to set them all down – but here are a few of my thoughts, for what they’re worth.
Point #4: I’m so thankful that the menfolk in our church see the need to be leaders, both in the home and in the church. A few have slipped and fallen away, but the great majority are faithful to take their place doing God’s work.
Point #6: This is a sad one! We won’t always agree and should resist false teaching, but think of Paul’s instruction to Timothy: “The servant of the Lord shall not strive…” However, the Apostle Paul wrote about “damnable heresies” some were promoting; he resisted their false doctrines verbally and in writing. Likely we’ll never escape this as long as we’re in the same world as Satan and he gets an inroad into some people’s thinking.
Point #7: Perhaps there’s nothing wrong with the church having twelve “divisions” like the twelve tribes of Israel, but there’s definitely something wrong with the Church of God being divided on doctrinal issues. “One Lord, one faith, one baptism…” as in Eph 3:1-6. Jesus says to teach them whatsoever things I have commanded you.” Matt 28:19-20 As you say, “anything goes” won’t go over with our Lord.
Point #8: I see a difference between the Kingdom of God – anyone, anywhere, who turns his life over to God – and the Church – a collection of born-again Christians who are agreed on the teachings or doctrines of Jesus Christ as revealed in the Word, baptized on confession of their faith and are now a united, functioning Body. Jesus says He wants to bring all His scattered sheep into His “fold” for protection and nurturing. (John 10:16)
Point #10: This does exist today; it’s referred to by outsiders as the Protestant Evangelical circle. United on certain basic truths and greatly divided in interpretation of Scripture. The only way to unite this group is if everyone would abandon all doctrines, scriptural or otherwise — then it would be “anything goes.”
I feel so sad – for the situation and for your frustrations with it all. It’s impossible to explain to non-Christians, and I’m sure it makes the Lord EXTREMELY sad. It’s broke and we can’t fix it.
Still I believe He has a way for each of us to make it; we can find a safe path through this world, if we’ll just follow His Spirit. Be happy and make ourselves useful where the Lord puts us, but if His Spirit directs us to move elsewhere – to a pasture where we’ll be better fed – be willing for that. It’s the only way we found.
I’m going to post this very long comment on your blog, but please feel free to delete some or all of it as seems best to you.
Christine, Why would I ever delete my sister’s word? The problem I have is this: What I believe to be so is not so. Then what is so I believe to be not so. So then there are the things that are so that I will never know! Just think somebody is wrong and I know I am, but will others ever know? Blessing my sister in Christ.
James you sound like Paul in I Cor. 1:10-13…
“I appeal to you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that all of you agree and that there be no dissentions among you, but that you be united in the same mind and the same judgment. For it has been reported to me that there is quarreling among you, my brethren. What I mean is that each one of you says, “I belong to Paul,” or “I belong to Apollos,” or “I belong to Cephas,” or “I belong to Christ.” Is Christ divided? Was Paul crucified for you? Or were you baptized into the name of Paul?”
He goes on to do a pretty good job of chewing them out for this very argument. We can all waste our time here arguing or we can be about our Father’s business. One thing is certain and very clear in the Word, Jesus Christ is coming again for us, and there will be no more room or need for any more arguments. We can be the bride that is ready and immediately joins her bridegroom, lamps full, or we can be one that suddenly realizes we have no oil and tries to run quickly and buy some, but by then it is too late. (See Matt. 25)
Continuing in Corinthians, Paul went on to let them know it wasn’t about who was the best theologian and their doctrine, but one God and Him crucified for your sanctification.
“For consider your call, brethren; not many of you were wise according to worldly standards, not many were powerful, not many were of noble birth; but God chose what is foolish in the world to shame the wise, God chose what is weak in the world to shame the strong, God chose what is low and despised in the world, even things that are not, to bring to nothing things that are, so that no human being might boast in the presence of God.” I Cor. 1:26-29
He is our source of life in Christ Jesus, whom God made our wisdom, our righteousness and sanctification and redemption; therefore, as it is written, “Let him who boasts, boast of the Lord.” I Cor. 1:30
You do your part well James and it is very clear that God is with you and that He is your source! Thank you for pouring forth from such a humble and righteous heart. The world needs more men like you!
Be Blessed!
P.S. when I said wasting our time here arguing, I meant on this earth, not at your blog. Just clarifying!!
Lori, Yes, I know your meaning but others may not thank-you for clarifying. Let me try this again but I shall add one statement: The things that I believe to be so are not so, then there are the things that are so I believe to be not so, then there are the things that are so that I will never know. Just think somebody is wrong! I know I am wrong, but will others ever know? For I have wasted time on; this is so or not so, when others that do not know, All of them to hell they will go! Yes it is a poem being born! I just cannot get it out of my mind’s eyes! Anyway you are a blessing to His Name. His rewards are written on the walls of heaven with your name in His Lamb’s Book of Life, Amen
Love God, love people, love prayer, not so fond of religion. …
Ben, That will be four yeses on all the above, I am sure the only people Jesus got in a fight with was religious people. Religion the sound of that word even sounds like it tastes bad, yuck! Thank-you for following Men of One Accord, I pray it will bring you a blessing and encourage you, Amen. May Yeshua direct all of your steps this day and every day, Amen.
