It is the image of God reflected in you that so enrages hell; it is this at which the demons hurl their mightest weapons. ~ William Gurnall
This brings tears to my eyes. We are NEVER ALONE but it can feel that way. Blessings to you my brother in Christ.
Just observing a Sunday morning?
You aren’t alone in feeling that way. I do many times and I’m sure others do, too. Especially in church, sadly.
It was not only what I was feeling, but what I was seeing in others. If we could only open up and verbalize what is troubling us then we would find one accord and be Christ like with one heart.
Yes this is a prayer. Blessings my dear sister in Christ.
I appreciate, don’t exactly “LIKE” your verse. Rather, my heart aches for you in your situation. Finding too many too comfortable, often the Word’s robbed of its vitality so no important toes are stepped on. Our prayers are with you.
Christine you are a treasure! Yes I agree I don’t especially like the tone of this verse yet it is a fact found in many churchs today in the USA. Blessings.
And to you in return, dear brother in the family of God.
Beautiful poem. I am sorry you are hurting. Can you join a small group in your church where people do personal sharing? Just wondering if that might help. But you didn’t ask for advice; sorry if this is not what you need. I’ll pray that you can connect to someone at church.
Your words of love are so needed it is not only I but seen on so many random faces around me yes I am praying for myself and all who feel the shallow words. God bless you know you have blessed me.
Thank you; I pray that the Lord will meet your needs. Keep writing!
I write because our Abba ask me to, not because I have a great talent, for Him I write may it bring Him glory, Amen!
Wow, it made me weep! To many wounded people in the world. It has to make Abba that His creation has been so wounded in church. He WILL deliver because Jesus.
James, I am so sad that you are in a hard place. I am praying for you my friend. James, start decreeing you are s child of God and you have all the triumphfull procession coming with you because you have Jesus in you.
Sandy, When shall we meet face to face? I often write as the voice of the wounded, yes I am suffering a bit of discouragement. This is a prayer I try to say a lot using as few words as I can, and thus let God fill in the rest as looks into my heart. Love and Blessings dear sister.
Well next time I head east I will be sure to let you know I am coming for a visit. I have skype if you want that. But God is good. I have faith in Him to do the undoable and to cross the lines that need to be crossed. James, we are family and that is a God thing. I pray blessing and help in your present difficulty and discouragement. Papa, come quickly to my brother your son James. Abba, bless his endeavors and heal that which needs healing. I pray this in the mighty name of Yeshua. Amen and Amen.
Amen and Amen!
It’s good to see you posting, James. Powerful that was
Wally, I have so many tech problems I have had to go back to pin and paper using smart phone to get by. You know me as well as any one else and know this a prayer not only for me for a broken church in the USA. Blessings,
That’s truth James

Yes worship is always a good medicine for a broken heart! God bless you.
For forty years they wandered in the desert, though the promised land was only a short journey away. In the desert, they became hungry because food was scarce. God gave them manna from heaven. In the desert, they became thirsty because water was scarce. No water in the desert means death is imminent. Water flowed from the rock and sustained them. In the desert, there were poisonous creatures in hidden and unexpected places that would bite them day and night. The venom was sure to kill them. God provided a remedy lifted up on a staff of wood, a bronze image of the serpent, a sign of the bite that kills, lifted up and frozen in time and space, that whoever should look toward it might not suffer death. Today, I wander in a desert, a spiritual one. No life, no nourishment, no water, and serpents all around. I walk into the church to receive the manna from Heaven to feed me. I dip my finger in the pure water and make the sign of the cross as I gaze upon the image of the God man, made sin, lifted up on the cross so that those who look upon it may not suffer death. I think of my Savior and all he has given and promised and the desert seems to be teeming with life and color, blooming flowers, singing birds, and the faces of happy innocent children. It is the next life, not so far away, close enough to see its reflection in this one.
I understand, Blessings.
I love you, brother.
