PRAYER REQUEST – My Dad

Anytime there is a call to prayer may the Men of One Accord bend their knees, Amen

A DEVOTED LIFE

To all my friends from A Devoted Life:

I would greatly appreciate prayers from you all.

My Dad is critically ill and in the intensive care unit (ICU) at the hospital.  He has a gangrene infection in his gall bladder.  He is too ill for them to operate and remove his gall bladder.  We were just told that he is on life support and is experiencing organ failure of the kidneys and heart.  We understand that due to low blood pressure there may be other organ damage.

My Dad has loved his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ for as long as I can remember.  He is the one that showed me what it looks like to truly love God.  His destination is assured.  Yet, we selfishly desire to keep him with us and earnestly desire our Lord to heal the infection within his body and restore his health.

We serve the King of kings and Lord…

A Request For Prayer?

I received this request for prayer in my comments and replied that I would pass on the request through my blog. I was so deeply moved in the Spirit it took me some time before I could even  write to ask for others to pray. Yes this request is not from a country were one is free to worship Yeshua. These are the words that were in the comment:

dear men of one accord plz put us up in your prayers this day as the devil is attacking us from all sides the guarding angels are and will continue to be with us all but your prayers will also help. if two or more are gathered in his name jesus will oversee us and thru our most difficult times as the mission here grows the monetary parts are expanding too plz pray for a big blessing of monies to help in our daily operations and to give us a renewed sense of responsibility with our work in the field here. god bless u all and thank u in advances for all ur help

Thank-you all for joining with me in prayer for our brothers and sisters in Yeshua our Messiah.

HUNGER!

My hunger for prayer is

not to be my religious ritual

I crave a relationship with

Yeshua ben Yahweh

I yearn for colloquy

mouth to mouth with

the Great I AM!

I pine to huddle on

my Messiah’s chest

to attend the symphony

 Heart Beat of Immanuel!

I am famished to

cast my eyes upon the eyes

of the Bright and Morning Star

revealed Glory and Grace!

Malnourished my will melts away

to feast on the banquet

of the Bread of Life

the Will of my Abba Father!

AMEN.

No Other Arms!

No other place for me

No other arms

could set a soul free

protected from Satan’s harm

secure in Yeshua’s arms

No other place indeed.

I know I said it would be some time before a posted again. I also said I would still follow others post, so in reading T,s post on “A Story By Me” her poem inspired this poem I wrote in her comments to her poem.  I was really touched by her post and here is the link to her post. Thank-you T and God Bless.

Fear’s Face

I have looked in the face of fear

many times.

I look at fear’s face

each day.

I have the freewill on how

to gaze into

fear’s eyes.

Will I choose to runaway to

another place?

Hoping not to glimpse

fear’s scowl!

Might I choose to shrink, back away,

 then vanish?

Desiring an escape of

fear’s leer!

Could I be a silhouette

inside myself?

Cowardly snaking from

 fear’s thunder!

I have looked in the face of fear

many times.

I look at fear’s face

each day.

I have the freewill on how

to gaze into

fear’s eyes.

I choose to fall on my knees

to pray.

As the rising Son melts away

fear’s foundation.

I pick-up my cross and follow the Son

with the Spirit’s

mighty embrace!

Watching the crumbling of

fear’s stronghold!

I cry out Mighty Mighty is He

the Lamb of God

the Lion of Judea

Who Was and Who Is and

Who Is Forever More!

Yeshua Messiah!

Humble and meek I choose

to rejoice as Abba Father whisks away

fear’s dust.

Then replacing stone upon stone building towers

called Faith.

I look at Yeshua’s face

each day.

I have the freewill on how

to gaze into

Yeshua’s eyes.

I choose to pray at His feet

where I find

Towers called Faith.

AMEN.

Quotes on Prayer! XII

1 Thessalonians 5:16-18; Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.

The most eloquent prayer is the prayer through hands that heal and bless. The highest form of worship is the worship of unselfish Christian service. The greatest form of praise is the sound of consecrated feet seeking out the lost and helpless.

Billy Graham

Do not pray for easy lives. Pray to be stronger men. Do not pray for tasks equal to your powers. Pray for powers equal to your tasks. Then the doing of your work shall be no miracle, but shall be the miracle.

Phillips Brooks

Certain thoughts are prayers. There are moments when, whatever be the attitude of the body, the soul is on its knees.

Victor Hugo

Good Shepherd and Guardian of our souls, we adore You. We adore You in Spirit and in Truth. Let us not lose heart, except to make more room for You in our hearts. Amen.

St. Francis of Assisi

Prayer is striking the winning blow. Service is gathering up the results.

S. D. Gordon

Prayer should never be an excuse for inaction. Nehemiah prayed, but he also set guards for protection. He used common sense. As a result, what had not been done in a hundred years’ time was finished in fifty-two days.

Corrie ten Boom

Nothing is so costly, so exorbitant, so extortionate, as that which is bought by prayer. While, on the other hand, nothing is so truly and everlastingly enriching as that which is gotten and held by prayer, and by prayer alone.

Alexander Whyte

The answer to a prayer request may indeed be long-delayed, but there is no delay at all in an answer to the prayer itself. When we cry out there is immediately an answer speedily God rushes to help. The answer may be the squeeze of the Father’s hand on ours, the quiet comfort of the Father’s voice, the reassurance of the Father’s presence even though the stresses and pressures are still evident.

Emilie Barnes

The end we ought to propose to ourselves is to become, in this life, the most perfect worshipers of God we can possibly be, as we hope to be through all eternity.

Brother Lawrence, a sixteenth-century monk

Somebody once said God feeds the sparrow, but God never throws the food in the nest. Christ like men, who are wise never make prayer a substitute for work, nor work an excuse not to pray.

Unknown

Quotes on Prayer! XI

Luke 18: 1; Then He spoke a parable to them, that men always ought to pray and not lose heart.

Humanity is never so beautiful as when praying for forgiveness or else forgiving another.

Jean Paul Richter

I can no longer condemn or hate a brother for whom I pray, no matter how much trouble he causes me.

Dietrich Bonboeffer

When I get depressed about my present failures, I ask God to remind me of my true identity: one who will be made perfect and has already been forgiven.

Philip Yancey

I sit beside my lonely fire and pray for wisdom: for calmness to remember or courage to forget.

Charles Hamilton Aide’

Forgiving others has to become a way of life. Something we do on a day-by-day basis. Because we are prone to blindness when it comes to our unforgiving attitudes, we can’t always see it when we have them. But God will show us the truth if we just ask Him to. The problem is, too often we don’t ask.

Stormie Omartian

Dear Lord and Father of mankind, Forgive our foolish ways! Reclothe us in our rightful mind, In purer lives thy service find, In deeper reverence, praise.

John Greenleaf Whittier

We the believers in our nation, must pray that God will wake His people out of numbness, spiritual apathy, and sleep  in order to understand their role in leading people on the path of reconciliation.

Jack Hayford

Our real work is prayer. What good is a could iron of our frantic little efforts unless first we heat it in the furnace of our prayer? Only heat will diffuse heat.

Mother Maribel

Mercy is getting down on your hands and knees and doing what you can do to restore dignity to someone whose life has been broken by sin ( whether his own or that of someone else).

Sinclair Ferguson

A prayer to be said when the world has gotten you down and you feel rotten, and you’re too doggone tired to pray, and you’re in a big hurry, and besides, you’re mad at everybody: HELP.

Charles Swindoll

Just Checking In

Another Guest Post from My Aunt! I’m not sure if she is the author or not for she has not told me. I do know she writes a lot of poetry of course she is much better than I. Hope you enjoy!

“JUST CHECKING IN”
A minister passing through his church
In the middle of the day,
Decided to pause by the altar
And see who had come to pray.
Just then the back door opened,
A man came down the aisle,
The minister frowned as he saw
The man hadn’t shaved in a while.
His shirt was kinda shabby
And his coat was worn and frayed,
The man knelt, he bowed his head,
Then rose and walked away.
In the days that followed,
Each noon time came this chap,
Each time he knelt just for a moment,
A lunch pail in his lap.Well, the minister’s suspicions grew,
With robbery a main fear,
He decided to stop the man and ask him,
‘What are you doing here?’The old man said, he worked down the road.
Lunch was half an hour
Lunchtime was his prayer time,
For finding strength and power.

 ‘I stay only moments, see,
Because the factory is so far away;
As I kneel here talking to the Lord,
This is kinda

what I say: ‘I JUST CAME AGAIN TO TELL YOU, LORD,
HOW HAPPY I’VE BEEN, SINCE WE FOUND EACH OTHER’S FRIENDSHIP AND YOU TOOK AWAY MY SIN. DON’T KNOW MUCH OF HOW TO PRAY, BUT I THINK ABOUT YOU EVERYDAY.
SO, JESUS, THIS IS JIM CHECKING IN TODAY.’

The minister feeling foolish,
Told Jim, that was fine.
He told the man he was welcome
To come and pray just anytime

Time to go, Jim smiled, said ‘Thanks.’
He hurried to the door.
The minister knelt at the altar,
He’d never done it before.

His cold heart melted, warmed with love,
And met with Jesus there.
As the tears flowed, in his heart,
He repeated old Jim’s prayer:

‘I JUST CAME AGAIN TO TELL YOU, LORD,
HOW HAPPY I’VE BEEN, SINCE WE FOUND EACH OTHER’S FRIENDSHIP AND YOU TOOK AWAY MY SIN. I DON’T KNOW MUCH OF HOW TO PRAY, BUT I THINK ABOUT YOU EVERYDAY.

SO, JESUS, THIS IS ME CHECKING IN TODAY.’
Past noon one day, the minister noticed
That old Jim hadn’t come.
As more days passed without Jim,
He began to worry some.

At the factory, he asked about him,
Learning he was ill.

The hospital staff was worried,
But he’d given them a thrill.
The week that Jim was with them,
Brought changes in the ward.
His smiles, a joy contagious.
Changed people, were his reward.

The head nurse couldn’t understand
Why Jim was so glad,
When no flowers, calls or cards came,

Not a visitor he had.
The minister stayed by his bed,
He voiced the nurse’s concern:
No friends came to show they cared.
He had nowhere to turn.

Looking surprised, old Jim spoke
Up and with a winsome smile;
‘the nurse is wrong, she couldn’t know,
That he’s in here all the while

 Everyday at noon He’s here,
A dear friend of mine, you see,
He sits right down, takes my hand,
Leans over and says to me:

‘I JUST CAME AGAIN TO TELL YOU, JIM,
HOW HAPPY I HAVE BEEN, SINCE WE FOUND THIS FRIENDSHIP, AND I TOOK AWAY YOUR SIN.

ALWAYS LOVE TO HEAR YOU PRAY,

I THINK ABOUT YOU EACH DAY, AND SO JIM, THIS IS JESUS CHECKING IN TODAY.’

If this blesses you, pass it on. Many people will walk in and out of your life, but only true friends will leave footprints in your heart
May God hold you in the palm of His hand
And Angels watch over you.

Please pass this page on to your friends & loved ones. If you aren’t ashamed. Jesus said,

‘ If you are ashamed of me,’ I will be ashamed

Of you before my Father.’

So, FRIEND, this is ME … Just Checking In Today.

More Of Jack’s Love List

Many people have asked, some people have asked, well at least one person has asked for more of my scribbles out of Jack’s love list.

1.) How many times have you ever been told by someone all you need is more faith? Does not everyone need more faith? In good times we need more faith in hard times we need more faith, then what is one really asking for? What one is asking for is for someone to come alongside and pray with them not at them. For in the prayer of One Accord our faith becomes greater than a mustard seed. What then happens when FAITH is GREATER than a mustard seed?

2.) The importance of praying in unity cannot be overstated as a Big Contributing Factor in seeing answer to prayers. There is power in unity because our Abba Father strengthens our Faith as He joins our hearts in One Accord. In this act of obeisance our Abba Father strengthens the individuals personal walk Christ. Acts 2:1

3.) When praying alone I can sometimes become discouraged and give up too soon. Praying with other men forces me to verbalize my needs and teaches us how to allow others to share our burdens. In this WE gain strength, encouragement, and faith, each time we hear others praying for us. The Prayer of One Accord opens up a wonderful flow of God’s blessings, power, love, and grace into our lives.

4.) One of the things most men of todays church do not have is a conviction about is the war going on in the Spiritual Realm. Men need to be unified in believing that the Spiritual Realm is real, and they have a place of privileged, authority, and access in it. When men recognize they can make a very real insurgence into this Spiritual Realm, they believe with greater faith.

5.) Worship is a form of prayer, and in prayer we worship, seeing power in our prayer begins and is in our worship.

6,) One of the most important things I have learned about being in a Spiritual Family is finding power in prayer through unity.

7.) How do I truly intercede for people and situations? Could it be the Bride of Christ praying in One Accord?

8.) Breaking down of the denominational barriers starts with men like you and I praying together for unity in the Body  of Christ. Men of all cultures, races, and denominations that become united in prayer to bring down the strongholds of Satan will see Thy Kingdom Come.

9.) For most men there is a vast ignorance about the ways of prayer. Proof! Is seen in the industrialize production of books on the subject of prayer in the modern and ancient  church. These books line the shelves of the book store and most have been written by women. Where have all the men gone?

10.) Abba Father, I , James who is a nobody and a sinner, can you use me? Will You use me as an instrument to break down all the attitudes of hatred, animosity, separation, and disrespect, toward races and other denominations. Abba help me to see each man as Your most favorite child, Amen

Ten Commandments Award

Ten Commandments Award.

The blog of Men of One Accord was not the idea of one man it came from the group of men. It was the idea that some of what we were leaning needed to be put out into the world. So we prayed and the blog came to life, and if asked how we did it? We could not tell you for we have no computer skills. This blog “Men of One Accord” is a God thing we only started it in April. To Jesus we give all the praise, glory and the awards, AMEN!

RULES: The rules for this award are that you must answer the following ten questions and nominate ten blogs that you think deserve the award.

1. Describe yourself in seven words: husband, grandfather, prayer, blue-collar,  blessed, Christian, dyslexic,

2. What keeps you up at night?  The Holy Spirit when He wants to spend time with me!

3. Who would you like to be? Caleb to take all the land the Lord has given to me. AMEN!

The worst thing about blogging – Spelling I can NOT  SPELL!

7. What was the last website you looked at? http://mybroom.wordpress.com/

8. If you could change one thing about yourself what would it be?  I would like to become a good speller!

Bonus Question:  What is your testimony for Jesus Christ? February 23 1989 the Lord found me homeless and alone ready to end it all. That is a story for a post I have been working on for some time. It is a story I have told a thousand times but I have had a very hard time writing. Jesus Rescued me from death. Amen!
