2012 in review

In August 2011, I was given my first computer and was teaching a men’s prayer group. One of the guys said you need to put what you write on the internet, I said I don’t know how, so we prayed. April 7, 2012 I started Men of One Accord just by stumbling across wordpress.  I still do not know how to do a lot of things like links and ping backs But I will learn in time. The growth of this blog is all a God thing and the loving hearts of His children out there, to Him I Praise only. From my heart to yours I thank-you for reading Men of One Accord. To all who read Men of One Accord may His arms embrace you and pull closer to His Throne so you hear His heart beat of Love, Amen. James                                                     The stats helper monkeys prepared a 2012 annual report for this blog.

Here’s an excerpt:

600 people reached the top of Mt. Everest in 2012. This blog got about 5,100 views in 2012. If every person who reached the top of Mt. Everest viewed this blog, it would have taken 9 years to get that many views.

Urgent Call to Prayer!!

A Call to Prayer of One Accord, There is a son out there in the world By the name of Joshua who is off the edge. I have been asked to pray for him, and I am asking all who  read this to do the same.  In this prayer we are asking God to use His perfect judgement and love to do whatever it takes to bring this lost lamb back Home in His arms.

To me this is the most important prayer a man can make, for is it not written that Jesus said I AM The Good Shepherd? Is it not written that the Shepherd left the ninety and nine to find the one that is lost?

On October 15, I got a request to pray for Joshua and I sent an email back asking if I could blog this prayer request. Today I heard back.

Join with the Men of One Accord in prayer for the one that is off the edge.

Pray Like a Child

Pray Like a Child

part 1

Matthew 18:1-5; At that time the disciples came to Jesus saying, “who is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven?”

Then Jesus called a little child to Him, set him in the midst of the and said, “Assuredly I say to you, unless you are converted and become as little children you will by no means enter the kingdom of heaven. Therefore whoever humbles himself as this little child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven. Whoever receives one little child like this in My name receives Me.”

I have heard and watch the prayers of a child and the faith in which he freely asks anything of Jesus. I have watched and witnessed Jesus quickly answer and give far more to that child than what he asked for.

Micah’s rainbow: Micah is my grandson who is one of Jesus’ most favorite little ones. Micah has no problem asking Jesus, or my wife for anything. Jesus, because of Micah’s faith, as I have witnessed it, gives Micah anything he asks for. Example #1: Micah was six years of age riding in the car with his father when he asked, “Dad do you think Jesus will make me a rainbow?”

Not knowing what Micah would ask next His father said yes. Micah then asked, “Dad will you pray with me for Jesus to make me a rainbow?”

His dad was a bit lost for words did not wish for Micah to be  disappointed for there was not one cloud in the sky. His dad may have uttered something like not now I,m driving.  I do not know if the Holy Spirit or his own guilt made him to decide to stop the car and pray with Micah, but he did. They prayed and got back on the road, they had only gone a short distance and all of a sudden there was clouds and this perfect rainbow. No big deal right we live in Florida, we get a lot of rain and rainbows. Still Micah asked, and Jesus answered,

Micah got his rainbow!

The wonderful thing about talking to God there is no dead zones and you never have ask, “Can you hear me now?”

Isaiah.7:11 “Ask a sign for yourself from the LORD your God; ask it in the depth or on the height above.”

Yes I know I have taken this verse out of context, but as for my grandson he knew nothing about context, He just wanted to ask Jesus for something special that day. His father was so amazed by the sight of the rainbow he stopped and took the above picture. I love the Verizon bill-broad that just happens be in the picture.

Ten Commandments Award

Ten Commandments Award.

The blog of Men of One Accord was not the idea of one man it came from the group of men. It was the idea that some of what we were leaning needed to be put out into the world. So we prayed and the blog came to life, and if asked how we did it? We could not tell you for we have no computer skills. This blog “Men of One Accord” is a God thing we only started it in April. To Jesus we give all the praise, glory and the awards, AMEN!

RULES: The rules for this award are that you must answer the following ten questions and nominate ten blogs that you think deserve the award.

1. Describe yourself in seven words: husband, grandfather, prayer, blue-collar,  blessed, Christian, dyslexic,

2. What keeps you up at night?  The Holy Spirit when He wants to spend time with me!

3. Who would you like to be? Caleb to take all the land the Lord has given to me. AMEN!

4. What are you wearing now? shorts, tee-shirt, and slippers

5. What scares you?  computers I don’t know a thing about them if you ask me how I got this page done I could not tell you!

6. What are the best and worst things about blogging?  The best thing is all the people I have come into contact with.

The worst thing about blogging – Spelling I can NOT  SPELL!

7. What was the last website you looked at?

9. Slankets, yes or no? No

10. Tell us something about the person who nominated you. Sebastian, of     Is a man of God, a teacher of the word filled with the Holy Spirit, and has a great love for others. AMEN!

Bonus Question:  What is your testimony for Jesus Christ? February 23 1989 the Lord found me homeless and alone ready to end it all. That is a story for a post I have been working on for some time. It is a story I have told a thousand times but I have had a very hard time writing. Jesus Rescued me from death. Amen!

My nominations for Ten Commandments Award include:

Hear My Cry Jesus!

Hear My Cry Jesus!

Men of the church say I am not called of God,

the Prayer of One accord is not of God!

these men say there is no fruit of your labors,

so you must not be of God!

these men say I am not saved at all!

My Jesus is there something

wrong with me?

Have I sinned against You?

For I also see no fruit in my labors for You!

Then this still soft loving voice I hear;

Does an apple tree know if it is producing apples?

Does the tree know if the fruit is sweet or sour?

A Jurist Fundamentalist looked at My tree

and said it cannot produce fruit:

cut it down!

A Critical Pentecostal looked at My tree

and said its fruit will only be rotten:

up root it and burn it!

The fruit of My tree is not for them

to do as they wish.

The fruit of My tree is for

Me to do as I please.

I feed, I water, I cause the sun to shine;

I provide for My tree all of its needs!

Only I AM the Owner

of the tree can judge

the fruit of My tree.

Go, Produce the fruit

I have planted you to produce.

I wrote this after taking the time to get to know and try to get involved with twenty-five churches in the town I now live. I have tried to get the men of these churches to start prayer groups. They have said many  things but mostly they do not have the time for something like “men praying in unity.” I have four and one half years invested in this town.  This a very small town I have no idea why it has so many churches with so few people in them!

The good news is there is about 75 more churches I have not yet been to!

Letter to My Father

Just another post from Daniel!

Letter to my Father

Dear heavenly Father I ask you what is wrong with this nation ? Why is it people spend more time questioning about how, when, and where your return is going to be instead of how great it is going to be ? Do they not know these things should not matter just that you are going to return ? Seems to me we should all be worried more about being caught sleeping in the spiritual sense. Or better yet people who say there is not going to be a return, the bible is a hoax ? So is what those people are saying is that if given the chance they would not believe you are the messiah and nail you to the cross again? Father I ask you do people not understand that we may in fact be on different timelines ? For us you may have been gone 2000 years but in your time maybe its only been 2 seconds, minutes, hours, or days by your clock of eternity. I do not know nor do I dare guess. Father if this is the case how heartbroken you must be to know that in this little time you are forgotten, cursed, and crucified by these people daily. Every time a man ignores your existence and falls to the riches of this earth how much sorrow you must feel! When children are left to fend for themselves and no one is there to take care of them. Shouldn’t there be more adoptions instead of orphans? Father there are men with millions but yet there is homeless who walk the streets! Are we that selfish? O lord 2000 years in our time yet everyone still doesn’t understand that you are being extra gracious by giving us all time to repent before we are judged! When people ask of you to return are they really ready? I myself want to be held like a lost orphan child who meets there father for the first time. I am also scared of that day because I want to know that I did all I could to please you. Shouldn’t we all feel this way? Where are all these so called Christians with all of this madness going on? Are they stuck on a church pew that they sit in faithfully every Sunday or whenever they meet? Why father do they not get up and out in the world? Please move them. Are their eyes glued shut? Please open them. Are their hearts not open to the true meaning of your words? Father please teach them. Have these buildings they call church become their idols? Please say its not so.

Father if I left my place of employment to pray with my brother would I be punished or blessed? If I lost the job I do not care because I am told not to worry about how I will be fed or clothed because it is already taken care of by you. Father if I am to have nothing in this world like a car, a job, fancy clothes, riches, and anything else most cannot do without then let your will be done. It is written that anyone who chooses to be a friend of the world becomes an enemy of God. Please father take everything of this earth from me if it that’s what it takes to fulfill my services to you.

I once knew a man who loved sin no matter what the cost. He loved to steal, fight, break laws, and lust over numerous of things, but not limited to the above mentioned. This man finally got married, then saved, and finally started straightening out his life. Or so he thought. There was arguing, money issues, etc… Sometimes he felt like he needed to do whatever it took to make ends meet because every time he prayed for help he seemed to never find comfort. So he stopped praying. Needless to say there was not much room for Jesus in his heart anymore. Then it happened, his world was going great. There was not as much trouble or hard times in his life anymore. One day this man was approached by another and was asked to come pray with them. Of course there was no time for that, there was more important things in his life that needed to be done first. But this other man was very persistence and kept asking and asking and asking. You get the picture it was like a bill collector that keep harassing wanting to know where his money was. Finally the stray man gave in and went just to see what the hype was all about. Well come to find out the other man was a bill collector just one for God. Jesus wanted his son back at home with him. The man loved what was going on in his life and kept returning as often as possible. Again he felt as he did when he first asked Jesus to enter his life. thought nothing could go wrong. Then he ended up in the hospital, then laid off from work, bills were piling sky high again. What happened to the man? This time through his troubles instead of blaming God he rejoiced in his troubles. What in the world happened to the other man who blamed God for his troubles? Well let me tell you what happened. No longer did this man pray for himself alone, nor was he alone when he prayed about himself and more importantly praying for others. He also realized that all of these troubles were not troubles at all. How is that you might ask? These troubles from the very beginning were nothing but tests and guess what he failed horribly first go round. You see Jesus gave him another chance as a father will do. Without these troubles there are no tests. Now this man is asking for as much trouble as God will throw at him because all this is doing is causing one big word PERSAVERENCE. My brothers in Christ if life is well and things are going to smooth you might want to ask yourself am I doing the right things in my life! This is not intended just for people not involved in church but for you up there teaching and preaching as well. What is your congregation doing when there not sitting in front of you? Don’t know? Well my friend, where is your faith by your works? Has anyone else felt like a stranger in your church? Well did everyone not greet them as they entered the doors? Why not? Were they not wearing fancy clothes or maybe a little smelly? When that person feels unwanted they walk out that door and turn right back to well you can only imagine. The fore mentioned story of the man before and after was myself. I am proud to say that this is my testimony for the men of one accord. If it was not by Gods grace that this one man who entered my life and taught me to open my heart when I open my bible (not my wallet) then whose grace was it. Not the men of one accords grace but Gods grace. How many men in churches in your area actually go out and find Gods lost children and rejoice with them in there sorrow. why not? This is faith by works not by getting up every Sunday to sit and loose it all by Monday.

May God be with every man, woman, and child on this earth. Keep Jesus in your hearts and remember that every thing that happens is because it is Gods will not your own. Prayers that may at the time seem unanswered is your own selfishness that wants things according to your own will. Also remember that God is not only full of mercy, but is the God of judgement as well. This is my prayer for all.

Suggested Reading: Nehemiah 8:7-12

“It is a time to celebrate with a hearty meal, and to send presents to those in need; for the joy of the Lord is your strength.” Nehemiah 8:10 (The Living Bible)

It was a momentous day for Judah. For the first time in their generation, they read the laws of God as given to Moses. In an instant their spiritual eyes were opened to the truth-and how far they had strayed from it.

They wept incessantly. The Israelites were sorry for their sins and the sins of their ancestors and desperately wanted to make it right. Ezra and Nehemiah reassured the people that while it was ok to be sad over their sin, they shouldn’t live in that state of mind.

The truth of God’s word should bring repentance, but that repentance should give great joy as God’s mercy is celebrated. Celebrating the goodness of…

Pass or Fail

Pass or Fail

Saturday our men’s prayer  had what one might call question and answer day. We had many good question and answers, but there was one question that stood out.

Why do I fail so many of God’s test?

I being the leader of failure the past week with a laptop that is sick and in a coma. Trapped inside that laptop is all the stuff I have been working on, then there is all that stuff I have out there in cyber-space I need to be working on, and at work ##@#/ ##**/ and *&*@@#!

I am the King of Failure!

NIV James 1:2-4

Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trails of many kinds, because you know the testing of your faith develops perseverance. Perseverance must finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.

This was not the answer we were, I was, looking for. We, I, have heard many a sermon on this passage of Scripture and none was filling the void in the question. No religiousestly and christaneeze could answer this big hole in that question.

Why do I Fail God’s test?

So we prayed!

NIV Mark 9: 23-24

“If you can?” said Jesus, “Everything is possible for him who believes!”

Immediately the boy’s father exclaimed, “I do believe; help my unbelief!”

Without testing there is no belief.

God’s testing is not a pass or fail test,

the Test is to help us believe.

So we prayed!

God Dreams

God Dreams
NIV Jeremiah 29:11-13
For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.
Jeremiah is talking to the people of Judea about the coming judgment that is about fall upon them. For seventy years they will live in captivity in Babylon, after which time they will return to their land.
Yet how does this verse come alive in our lives today?
Is there a promise in it for us?
Do you think Ezra just woke up one day and said I think I want to rebuild the temple without God first giving him that dream?
Did Nehemiah just say today I think it is a good day to rebuild the walls of Jerusalem?
What about all the other men who shared the dream with Ezra and Nehemiah and did their part in God’s dream?
Who gave them that dream?
Who gave Joseph his dreams?
What about Abraham when did he say, I think I will leave my homeland and go and become a great nation in which the world will be blessed?
Who gave Jacob the dream at Bethel?
Our Lord is the Father of Dreams.
Our Lord has wired men to do big things.
What dreams do you have for yourself?
Do you think our Lord God has a dream for your Life?
We all have dreams we want to come true in our lives. One thing I have learned is this: My dreams for my life are like a pre-school play in comparison to the dreams God has for my life. Do You know what? God’s dreams come true if we just embrace them and let God work them out to His glory.
Jesus has given me a dream, all it is to get men to pray together in unity, in One Accord, and as One in Jesus. The amazing thing is here in Hardee county Florida, of the ninety plus churches the pastors, elders, and deacons of these churches all think it is a good ideal to pray. Yet they still have no time to get together and pray, oh they are so busy doing God‘s work! What they try to do is make me fit into a vision they think God has for my life, without even praying with me. They have no interest in the dream that God has given to me and have no heart or desire to see if they might be apart of it. Oh they are more than happy to pray at me but not with me! No time to busy! Well I have never stopped praying for them and I will always have the time to pray with them, they know where to find me. I will never stop reaching out to them and I will keep hanging around to ask them to join me in prayer till the Lord moves me on.
Do you know what dreams God has given to you?
If you do let us get together and pray and then get to work!
If not then it is time we pray together until each one has a dream that is so big that there is no earthy way we can do it without God. It was not one man who rebuilt the temple or one man who rebuilt the walls of Jerusalem. It was many men who were in One Accord, in One mind, and of One heart, that did their part in God’s dream to make it happen. The walls of the Church in America need to be rebuilt, let us get together pray and get to work on God’s dream.
