Faith the Question?
Yesterday when I was out I was asked the Question:
What does faith mean to you? I know all the Biblical answers from the Bible yet what was asked what is in your heart about faith? I know that all have the answers from the Bible on faith yet I would love to hear your heart-felt personal answers to this Question:
What does faith mean to you?
Wow James, this will take far more thought than I now have left this morning! Good question though!
That is ok take your time I think it is a question we should all take time to think about. I was only shooting from the hip when I answered and the more I think about it, it was from the heart!:)
My faith means I can stop sweating life!
π
very good question – could even be a reason to start a blog eh? π Want my short answer? π My faith tells me that God requires nothing more of me than to have faith in him.
π
Morning … FAITH … No matter what life dishes out .. Trusting God will guide my path and guard my back
π
Faith to me means making plans for my future, for my daily comings and goings and with-out reservation. We need spiritual faith in our lives. I have faith in brushing my teeth! Never know whats in that toothpaste!! Yaaaaaah!
π
Stepping out into the unknown where intimacy with God happens as He reveals more of Himself to me and all fear is cast out to live and thrive in perfect love! β€
π
Faith… pouring ourselves out as a drink offering to the Lord and submitting to His Will to be totally used by Him, trusting Him, no matter what we see in the natural.
π
hmmm. nice question..vw
HMMMMMMM!!!! and I guess that means you are thinking? Blessings VW!
I Love all the comments from you all! Thank-you and May God Bless as we grow in Faith and One Accord, Amen!
Okay, so what conclusion did you come away with from all these answers?
Another great question: Faith is a very personal responce to God’s Grace of obedience to His Love for us. Love you my sister Sue in Christ Jesus! π
Initially, faith to me meant taking a look at what seemed to make sense from a number of different sides and ultimately realizing that what God said made the most sense. In, other words, to a certain extent, I accepted what He said about my sin and forgiveness on faith, not proof.
Amen and Amen! π
Faith to me means that I can believe EVERYTHING in God’s Word. All that He has promised will come to pass. It means that I can trust Him in EVERY area of my life because His plan for my life is perfect. I can “rest” in Him even when circumstances “seem” to be against me. I am “secure” in Him.
Love this statment and so true! Blessings Ernesto! π
Faith–believing everything in God’s Word is true. No matter what it looks like to the flesh side of me, if God says I am to do something, it is possible for me to do it, and He is my help to do it.
π
Faith means trusting God and doing what he wants me to do or going where he says to go even when sometimes it may not make any sense, or seems impossible. Faith is knowing that when I step into those places he sends that are way out of my comfort zone and bigger than me that he is big enough and all that I need.
Yep! π
Hi James! Hey, you know, I can’t get beyond parsing the question. I mean, here I am at a computer, not on the street being asked a question, having time to actually think about my response. But the more I think, the more complicated it gets! Well, not really…it’s pretty simple, I suppose.
What does faith mean to me? Without God, nothing. Seriously, the question is loaded with the opportunity to address faith as a good thing, something people all over the world possess is some form or another. The question is sort of like another that asks, “Do you believe prayer changes things?” Prayer is nothing but empty and worthless words without Someone to hear and answer. So, faith, like prayer, must have an object. For me, my faith is in the Triune God who has always been faithful to me. Without it everything would be in vain.
Love You Anthony! Yes I did leave out the fact my/our faith is in Jesus Christ the one who died and rose again. Yes I was out in a mall talking to others about Jesus at the time I was asked the question about faith. Without God the Triune One of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, Faith is vanity of vanities. Thank-you for making clear who our faith is in and whom we pray and believe in, Amen. God Bless! π
The bible tells us that faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things unseen. That’s from the Hebrews writer…
I say “Faith is stepping down the staircase when one cannot see any steps.”

π
Yes Steve I agree, and Amen! π
What a great question: What does faith mean to you?
The first thing that came to my mind was God love to us…because faith as our own very existence is a free and unmerited gift that God has given us. So the first thing I think of faith is his Love gave me at the moment of my baptism.
Then the second thing it came to my mind was 1 Corinthians 13:13:
“And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love”.
Funny how everything goes back to Love!!!
Yes Caleb, It has always been about LOVE! Blessings! π
